Default 2011 tuned by diablosport

so with much anticipation by lots of 2011 owners, diablosport came out with the Trinity tuner for 11' model year. i was pumped and visited a diesel tuner friend of mine and he happened to have a trinity in stock. so i bought it!! the total came 448.65 with tax and thats in canadian dollars. sooooo i saved about 200 off the sticker price.... hehehe.

it was for me , a little frustrating at first. i have 2 MAC computers, DS doesn't support MAC so i had to borrow my brothers spare PC laptop ( thankfully ). i had to download updates and updates and one more update. after all was finished ( roughly 30mins of DL'ing ) i plugged her into my jeep. plugged in , its pretty much " follow the screen " kind of setup. very straightforward installation and its a awesome little unit. I'm not a fan of the " GPS hanging from my windshield " look, so I'm not running the live feed stuff right now. maybe on a long road trip or towing i will. anyways, i loaded the 87 octane tune and adjusted my tire size to the metric calculator. dash lights flicker and bells go off but its just the ECU writing and doing its thing.

first impressions: throttle feels better for sure. first thing i noticed, the jeep with 35s was laggy before, now it torques up better from a stop. i have a decent hill near my house that goes up the local mountain, for shits and giggles i drove it before the tune and after. pulls slightly harder and feels torque'r. i wouldn't say " night and day " , its a 3.8L , lets be realistic. but this is a nice improvement. speedo is corrected so it holds rpms better, no more OD at 40mph ( i hated that!! ). drove around town a bit , did light driving, let the computer adjust any a/f ratio. did a nice pull onto the highway, maybe 80% throttle and she felt quicker. butt dyno tells me that much. i got up to 70mph and took her back down to 64mph ( 100kmh in canada ). set the cruise, checked my GPS, 101 lol. oh well close enough for me, not 92 like before. thats all I've done with her so far. i will play with the other stuff later tonight and this weekend. overall I'm happy, i playing around with my jeep and having fun doing it. keeps me busy!!

if you don't want to spend the money for a tuner/programmer, i would highly recommend the AEV Procal. just adjusting the speedo/gears/tranny helps the most in performance IMO. a few ponies in a bonus

Thanks for sharing! I've been wondering if it is worth the money or not.

no problem! i know lots of guys were waiting for a 2011 tuner/programmer.

one thing i noticed, i can't find any gear changing settings. i have 4.88's in my shop and i just realized i don't think i can change my gear setting? a least i can't find it....

i adjusted my throttle booster to 20% and drove around, way better around town! i like the throttle booster maxed out to 20%, thats as high as it goes btw.
