Default what shock would you pick?

Im looking at upgrading my shock on my 4" rough country lift. I've heard bilstein 5100s all over the forums. Im wondering what other alternative there are. I do mostly on road driving and will be occasionally going off road. I've already looked into plush ride coils. What around 2-300 higher than the bilsteins are good. I want to eliminate some body roll and when I hit bumps im not feeling a large impact in my seat. Im going to end up doing a larger trackbar and a few other things mentioned, as far as front end stability and reliability go.

I've heard the 5100s are great, but I went a step further and got 5160s. I love them, with those and a clayton off road lift, It rides better than factory.

Huge fan of my Fox 2.0's; however, other than stock, I have nothing to compare them to...

Thanks for the reply guys. The 5160 are remote resi's huh? I just want a plush ride. My buddy has a chevy 1500 built prerunner with king or fox coilovers and I've never rode in anything that rode that amazing. On and off road control was insane. But that's what what a $8k suspension kit gets you lol

I've heard the fox 2.0s are legit. I wish I could ride in one with them. Where did you get them and what was the cost. Pm me if necessary

Thanks again

Just ordered a 3.5 RE lift and 5100's for the shocks, and steering stabilizer, can't wait to get it on. More of a mall crawler, I've heard 5100's are good offroad but better on rd then Fox's, of course the fox's are better off road..

Ran em both. Bilsteins are good shocks and will do you well. Foxs are better everywhere over the bilsteins, not sure where you heard otherwise. I loved my adj 2.0s.

I'm replacing my Bilstein 5100s with King adjustables. I need different settings for on vs off road and am not a huge fan of the Bilsteins. They are good, but not great. That said, are you sure it's not your springs that are leading to your uncomfortable ride? Progressive rate springs turned my rig from harsh to cush, while the shocks remained the same.

I started with the RC 4" kit and have moved to the 5100's and Old Man Emu HD coils. It is a huge difference. That being said, if price doesn't matter go with something that you can adjust so that you can tune it into your comfort level.

Which springs did you go with to make it cush? Money is always an important thing in mind. Cost/ride is what im more interested in. Id spend 800 on a set of shocks if the ride goes from bearable to wow.
