I know this subject gets a TON of play, but...

I am new to Jeep and am wondering about a/m fenders... As I understand it the stock fenders are light, available at pick/pull yards at inexpensive prices, don't transfer impact loads into the bodywork and mine do rub, a little (3.5" long arm w/35s), but does it matter?

Other than aesthetics (some of the tube fenders DO look badass) why would one buy tube fenders?
