Default sealing tramp stamp?

I put a poison spyder tramp stamp on my jk. Should I seal it with an rtv sealant or will it be fine to mount straight outta the box? I was thinking that it wouldve come with some sort of gasket...

If you are concerned about scratching the paint a thin bead of clear silicone will help.

Don't seal it. That vent is designed for a reason.

Helps defrost and cool your jeep. Vent moisture inside the tailgate, etc.

Also provides a vent for when hard tops are on to allow the cab to breath. Ie: your ears would pop of you have a hardtop when the windows are up and you turn the Ac on.

I was more concerned with trapping water between the tramp stamp and the paint. I wasn't going to seal the vent. Just don't want any chipping and rust in the future

Dang, I shouldve been more clear. Haha. I was concerned with water being trapped between the plate and the tailgate. No worries with the vent. Seems like between the aluminum tramp stamp and the tailgate, be a great place for water to sit and do some damage. My thoughts
