Default I never bend my D30 shafts

I just shear them straight off, at the same time, and never heard a bang or noise.

Never done either. So how do you get out that busted part...you know for when I break a shaft?

Generally, a shaft with that type of failure indicates poor heat treating or bad metallurgy.

A shaft failure with proper heat treating and metallurgy usually looks like the pic below

I had to winch out and then towed! Dyna, thanks for the input. Did notice a few month ago that the U-joints were getting a reddish (not rusted) color, suggesting an overheat of some kind.

Manufacturer made Good on the 10 year warranty. Only asked how did the break, and I really cannot pinpoint the moment, no bank, nothing, just lost tracktion on the front axe inside a deep mud pit. They sent new axles, which somehow look beefier to me, and asked for the broken axles back to analize the breakage!
