Default Hood latches give too much on highway

Just made cross country drive from Florida to Minnesota and swore I was going to need a new hood. The rubber gives way too much and I will be switching them out soon but to what?

I like the drake's but would like to see a video of the rugged ridge, they look more user friendly...durability is king over cost.

Pic,s and advise please!

I posted this in the stock thread first thinking this mod to be more universal but the administrator has my permission delete as he feels appropriate.

Thanks

im going to leave mine stock for now until they start to give way a little but after having recently installed the RR full light guard kit I will say this, I was extremely disappointed in the workmanship of the product. I share this for one reason only, for me, I will be very wary of RR products going forward and for something as critical as a hood latch, no matter how small the part is, I want it to be of good quality and workmanship so the hood doesnt come crashing through my windshield at 55mph. My 2 cents on RR products.

Check out Daystar as well. I've been running these for 2 years and they are still very tight and cost a whole lot less than Drake.

x2 on the daystars. I put them on and the were almost too tight to close for the first month. But they completly eliminated the highway flutter.
Still tight after a year.

I have the drake offroad hood latches and they kick ass, a little pricey, but kick ass nonetheless.

I too have the daystars and after about 4 years, they still are stiff like new. The Drakes for me are a total waste of money, but thats just me.
U can also put a ziptie on the stock ones to tighten them up.

Do like most people have done (and myself) and just remove the coil spring......takes 30 seconds and 98% of
your hood dance is gone.
