Default Best Roof Rack/least drilling

I have been looking at roof rack systems for my JK and I am completely lost. What brands would the board recommend? Right now the Kargo Master and Off Road Logic look the best to me. Although the ORL is really expensive.

I would really like to keep the drilling to a minimum and the two brands above have the least or none as far as I can tell. Some of the brands like Warrior Products require much more drilling than I am willing to do to my jeep. Which leads me back to something I noticed about the Kargo Master. You do have to drill with the kargo master but it looks like it is in the bumper. Does anybody have the KM and an aftermarket bumper? I would hate to buy the KM and not have it work with an aftermarket bumper.

Last, I am wondering how much noise a roof rack adds not only from wind on the highway but from squeeks and rattles.

thanks ahead of time for all the input.

Do a search for Off Road Logic, before you waste any money as it seems they are taking peoples money without supplying any product.
As for Kargo Master, it has a 500 lb pay load and is supposed to be really tough without drilling. That is the one I am looking at.

I know that Kargo Master says no drilling but I honestly think they just have not fully updated thier website as the pictures and install instructions are for the 06 and older. If you go to the gallery section on this website and look at the Kargo jeep at SEMA it really looks like they drilled into the stock bumper to install the cage and rack.

They ran a plate from the frame and between the body and the bumper to mount the rack. There is an option for mounting into a steel bumper if you have one and that requires drilling.

No drill option w/ factory bumper.

Default Kargo Master Congo Cage

I had One on my 06 LJ mostly for hauling kayaks. It is a SOLID piece, quality fit and finish. The thing I dont like about the JK model is that the rear mounts/down tubes are outside the body leaving them in harms way on the trail. Previous model mounted behind the tail lights. Also Keep in mind to use the Soft top sunrider, or just to lower the top you have to pivot the whole rack back . Heavy mo fo. Definately two person task. I ended selling my soft top and went with a safari top/windjammer/duster deck combo for a pick up look. Thats why I was excited to see off road heros top only to here the bullshit the guy pullled before. i will wait until there is a track record for them and order from a supplier that has it IN STOCK. hope this helps

PS see them listed $329-$349.

Default Wind noise...

With the top off and nothing strapped to the rack there ia a little bit of wind whistles?? ok an odd sound. And with a boat up there it gets loud, but not over the radio, and can act like a sail on really windy days, but no rattles or squeeks. If you do little or no trail ridding this is way better than a warrior or Olympic. I had the warrior on a 97 TJ and was the reason I got rid of that Jeep and the daves rack? on a 2000 Tj and there really is no comparison, imo.
