Default Are these really needed for 4'' lift?

So I was reading the FAQ under suspension and came across the 4'' lift. and it states this (For a 4" lift, you should have a set of 4" coils, bump stop extensions, longer shocks, extended brake lines, longer sway bar links, adjustable front track bar, adjustable rear track bar, front and rear track bar relocation brackets, dropped pitman arm, adjustable upper and lower control arms front and rear and new double cardin u-joint style drive shafts.), is all of this really necessary in order to run a 4 inch lift or is this a "do it right" list for those in the perfect monetary world? Is there say a list of bare essentials to get by until a person can get the rest of the items on the list? I'm in the market for a lift and i''m not sure if I want 3 inch or 4 inch lift. I do light-moderate wheeling but it usually stays to strictly mud related. Thoughts, comments, and suggestions are welcomed.

The guy who asked what tires you want to run is right.

4" is A LOT of lift. I would say 6 out of 10 people on this forum run 2.5" or less. To do a 4" lift and maintain drive ability and durability the items listed in FAQ at minimum!

For light to moderate wheeling and mostly mud related 4" of lift on the JK is not necessary IMO. Also that is a lot of dough to spend to get the "look" but as BigSteve said it all depends on the size of tire you want to run.

I dont know bout all that. 4 inch lift kit with 37s. I dont rock crawl but I do some offroading and im on my stock drive shafts. It runs great on and off road. Im not claiming im an expert but I think it comes down to how and where your gonna drive.

I went with a terraflex 4 1/2" lift which included most of the above. I run 35" nittos and haven't had any lift related problems. I never changed my driveshafts and still haven't put my draglink flip on. I do mild to medium wheeling and have done some serious rocky to muddy hill climbs with no damages...30000mi and still goin.

You all make good points and yes I forgot tire size. They'll be bfg a/t 315/70/R17 which the manufacturer states the specs at 34.5 inch tire. I've only met one other person with a 4inch lift and that was back at last duty station in Italy. He was running a 07 jku with the zone 4 inch kit and nothing else. I figure results may vary so I figured I would ask the question and see what answers I would get.

Default 4" lift

I am running the teraflex 4" with 35 12.5 BFG KM 2s and the stability is fantastic. This is on a 2009 Unlimited X RHD. I did add the drive line but that is because of the level of offroading and recovery I do for my other friends. Keep in mind that with the 4" there will be absolutely not rubbing issues or clearance problems. I have had it at full flex and still have plenty of room. Plus if you choose to go bigger (tires) that option is there. Hope this helps.
