triangulated rear / double triangulated rear
triangulated rear / double triangulated rear
I am doing the mental math on which direction to go on my JKU build. Replacing axles with super duty front and rear. One thing I have read is the 10.5 wont fit in the rear with the stock gas tank. So thinking about doing the TJ tank in the rear, or just spending the 1000 bucks and doing the GENRIGHT rear tank... Either way, that opens up some options for the rear suspension.
In the front, I am going to try and keep the stock radius arm mounts but keep a stock like 4 link. XXX Traction has been successful at swapping these axles into Chevy trucks buy doing this. I sent Toby and email asking about flex. I know he is really happy with the on-road performance of that set up, so as long as he says it flexes well, I will probably go for it. The rig is a mostly on-road rig anyway... Will probably use a cartridge of helm joint at the frame end. Obviously, I will keep a track bar up front and will keep it inline with the drag link.
In the rear, I can do a 4 link, triangulated 4 link, or double triangulated 4 link. All the talk about roll center has me thinking. I will try to keep the front roll center high to avoid body roll. There is a thread about a jeep driving poorly on the street when the front and rear roll centers are not the same. What is the effect of running a single or double triangulated 4 link in the rear with a standard 4 link in the front? Goal is the most stable on-road ride possible with the least body roll. Any and all help would be appreciated...
