Default 2.5-3in spring shock set up

What set up would produce the best on road ride? Soft is good w/ 2 small kids that is my #1 priority.

Needs to stay a part time family hauler.

Nothing extremely expensive like Kings or Elkas.

I don't rock crawl. Just mud, trails, beach.

Would go AEV, but not a big fan of the Bilsteins.

Maybe Metal Cloak w/ Rancho 9000s or Fox

Some EVO plush ride coils would be a great start. I run their 3" plush coils, very nice ride on and off road. Paired with some Bilstein 5100's, you'd have a real nice road ride. I had a set of Bilstein 5100's and thought they rode great.

oh just saw Bilsteins aren't an option for ya. I haven't used them, but hear good things about OME shocks. I'm running Fox 2.0 remote res shocks now, they ride a bit firmer on road compared to the Bilsteins. Off road they perform awesome

The nice thing with the 9000's is you can adjust them soft for on road and then stiffen them up if you need to.

Have you looked into the RRD Shocks by Rock Krawler?

We have heard nothing but good things about these and will be putting them into our rigs soon.
