2012 Sport with Dented tailgate and need help finding a fix or replacement.....
Hi all,
Hollister Hills did a number on my tailgate or the trees at least
I was thinking of just purchasing an aluminum cover plate and hoping it would cover up the tailgate damage $100~$180
Warrior Products 920D - Warrior Products Tailgate Covers for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
Mopar replacement OEM tailgates cost about $500
My favorate option would be an aluminum tailgate fabricated by some local shop. Thin, light, and plain jane, hopefully under $500 but who and where to inquire? Im not about to pay $1K or more for one though!

I also broke my tail light cover, so maybe some cheap covers somewhere?

I called and emailed some junkyards and nobody has any.
My best bet now appears to be to just spend about $350 and convert the whole rear into ARmouR Plating by Warrior Products.
- $100 for corners
-$100 for Tailgate cover
-$100 for LED ligh kit
-$27 for LED resistor

Looks like your dent is right in the seem, that skin your looking at isnt goint to cover it. I wonder if you could pull the vent and push it out from the inside. JK sheetmetal is paper thin.

Yeah, I think that cover is going to leave a gap and not look as clean as you'd like. I'd keep looking for a replacement from the junkers and live with it for now.
Or put a tire carrier and big old tire on the rear and hide it.
