Default Need opinions!
I just got a mount for a high lift jack for the hood and the mount came with a weld on plate for the back of the hinge, and I was wondering if that was really needed because I see alot of mounts like this in which they don't have a plate there.

Not really needed, you will be fine if you run without them.
