How much wear is allowed in the stock ball joints before they need to be replaced? I inspected mine today. With the tire off the floor and a pry bar under the tire, the ball joints have about .035" to .045" of upward vertical travel and make a slight click when pushed to the upper travel limit.
There is no play side to side, just up and down so I think they may still have some life left in them.

Found it online. The wear limit of the lower joint moving up and down is .050. The wear limit of the upper joint moving side to side is .060.
