Default Secure Rear Storage for '13 2- Door w/o back seat???

Hey there everybody - well, this is my first post in months since my life took a huge U-Turn when Sandy slammed into the NJ Coast. Sadly - after doing everything that I could, to make my beloved Black '07 JK into the, PERFECT Jeep (in my mind), Hurricane Sandy decided that she wanted to devour both mine and the Hubby's TJ on that horrible night. Even with a four inch lift on mine, and a 6 inch lift on the Hubby's, that salt water came up so fast & furious that, it pushed the drain plugs up, and filled the cab floor with mucky awful smelling salt water. Within days, both Jeeps were rusting, and smelled HORRIBLE - Insurance company claimed both were a total loss. Of course we could not recoup any monies spent on Mods to either Jeep. Since we were also were in the process of moving out of state, we could not remove anything from either Jeep for saving (there was no place to store anything, and the insurance company said that, if bumpers (etc.) were removed that they had to be replaced - even though they were going to the scrap yard. It SUCKED big time losing all that time, effort and money that was spent making our Jeeps, one of a kind! Sadly that night, we also lost almost everything that we had packed into our two moving PODS in the front yard, as they also flooded. That storm really took my little NJ town, for the beating of it's life.

BUT now - we live down South in Georgia, and I have a new '13 Sahara,,,,the problem that I am having is trying to find SECURE rear storage for the whole back area. We have the seat removed, and travel to the Range often, so we need to have items out of sight. I had a Flex-A-Trunk by Bestop in my '07 but it seems from their website that it will not fit in the '13.

Can anybody suggest decent removable (when needed) storage that will secure my rear cab area?

Thanks for ANY help!

I have a "Dee Zee DZ6535P Poly Plastic Storage Chest" secured in the back with a 2012 Yakima RipCord Locking Cargo Straps (one pair) - Lockable Universal Heavy-Duty Rack Straps for Surfboards, SUP, Boats, Ladders, Luggage etc. - 8004048

I run the straps through the hoops the back seat is secured with and i give it a X under and over and lock it on the top.

works really well

Check out the Tuffy Security Deck, encloses the entire area with the seat removed and it's removable if needed.

I know exactly how you feel. I lost a 2007 Corvette and my 2007 F150, and my boat was tossed around a little. Replaced the Vette with a 2013 Sport S and got a new 2013 F150. Insurance company was very generous. Thanks to a generator, my house was spared from flooding.
Good luck in Ga. I'm gettin out of the Northeast in about 1 1/2 yrs.

First, sorry about what happened, I couldn't imagine losing my stuff. Especially my Jeep But anyway, I'm glad you got a new one to start over again with a new one...As another has stated you should check out the Tuffy security deck. I use mine when I run topless and doorless and I see it as a must have. I believe it works with both 4 door and 2 door Jks (as long as the rear seat is removed). Once installed the first time taking it on and off after if (I remember correctly requires no tools). It's a great mod and uses the tailgate to lock it closed.

I forgot that I posted this! I did get a Tuffy Security Deck and absolutely love it. I like that you can use the upper area for storage with bungie cords and hooks, and the deck below is SECURE without worry! One of the BEST products that I have ordered in ages! If anybody is trying to decide on storage options, this would be one that I can't suggest high enough!
