Here is what I am faced with. I just purchased a set of 40" tires and they will not work.
I am leaving for Moab in less than a month and need to come up with something.

Here is my current setup:

2008 jk
4.5" Lift
40x13.50x17 Goodyear MT/R
Dyantrac 60's (Standard width 68.5)
Trailready Beadlock 4.5" backspacing



When the wheels are cranked all the way towards the passenger side, they are rubbing on the frame and driver side swaybar. When the wheels are cranked all the way towards the drive side there is NO rubbing on the frame but rubbing on the Tereflex swaybar. (passenger side) I have been told to limit by steering? My problem is that I dont have adjustible steering stops on the dynatrac axles. Can you drill and tap the knuckle?

I tried to 2" wheel spacer.... that got me away from the frame but then I was into the body.

I hope this gives a pretty good idea what I am faced with. The rear is perfect....the front, not so much. I am just not sure what else to do. Move the axle forward an inch?

Again, if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Based on your description, Sounds like an adj trackbar needed, and like you mentioned, adjust the control arms out.

 

Don't crank the wheel all the way for now, major problem temporarily solved

 

You definitely need an adjustable trac bar with that setup.

 

Or screw out the steering stop bolts

 

This works, but put a washer between the bolt and face of knuckle. This way your steering stopper bolt is tightened in, but is adjusted outwards a little. There is a write-up somewhere on here, but if you go outside and look at your steering stopper bolt, just take it out, and add washers until you don't rub anymore. This will reduce your turning radius, so just be prepared.
