Default Whats wrong with my jeep!!!!

So I posted a threaded about my jeep and I'm probably being stubborn, but i want to hear from more people.the problem is my jeep won't shift out of neutral,I can't go into any gears when the jeep is on.(6spd manual btw) I changed out the slave cylinder and bleed it today.and still nothing, here was my procedure

-installed new slave
-hooked up hydro line to slave
-pumped the clutch 5-6 times and hold(while jeep is off)
-then opened bleeder valve all the way
-then closed bleeder,release pedal
Did this quite a few times,no bubbles came out.so we tried a vacuum pump my friend has and still nothing.

Am I doing something wrong,it's now been two wks,and I'm starting to think it might be the clutch or TOB.

Last week I bought the first slave and installed it,and vroola it went into gear,so we hooked up the drive lines back up,thinking we were going to have to drop the tranny and it stopped working, and now we are here today with brand new slave #2 bled and stil no progress, please help me,I probably sound like a moron and a whining baby.but I'm lost please help me.

Or instead of giving up, I would recommend seeing if you can find a slave and master cyinder combo. I found a sealed set for my Cherokee XJ and had this EXACT issue. Found out I was unable to fully bleed it and needed a sealed system. When you pump the pedal and the slave is not hooked up, does it still move the plunger?

Is it leaking from anywhere at all? Could be the master cylinder. Either way, anything hydraulic is easy to mess up when working on. Concur on taking it to the mechanic.

It could be a master cylinder issue, but try this ; use a section of clear tubing that is a tight fit on the bleeder ; immerse other end in (clean) fluid. Pump and hold, have helper open bleeder SLIGHTLY, watch for bubbles , close. If you open bleeder too much, it will suck air past the threads.

I got mine at Checker, but they may not sell it for the JK.

If not, have someone fill the reservoir while you have it bleed out on the other end. This will help release any air bubbles.

Nope no checker here lol, when I got my slave I got it from Carquest but they directly ordered it from Chrysler here in our town.all the other store didn't have any.

So are you saying have someone stand by reservoir, fill when needed,as I someone pumps and another one opens and closes bleeder?

I just found a thread on here, someone said that you bleed slave installed, then take slave off trans and push the rod in and hold and bleed it vertical? Should I try this,I'm looking online for the master cylinder btw, have that ready just in case, can't seem to find it anywhere.once again thank you for you patience and taking the time to help me,I'll keep you posted.and will keep troubling shooting thank you so much. I miss my jeep. Lol

No problem: I like trying to help the do-it-yourself people.

Bleeding vertical is always the best way since it is likely to remove all the trapped air.

As you bleed have someone up top look for air. I would push on the slave in the vertical position and tilt it around a lot while pushing it to see what you can get.

You can always open the bleeder and bleed fluid into a pan while making sure the reservoir doesn't get too low and let air in the line. That may get something out. My XJ didn't have a bleeder. If it did I'm sure I would have gotten all the air out.

Also, keep the slave as low below the master as you can as as much of a straight line to make the air bubble travel up the the master as easy as possible.

I am new to jeeps and always wanted one,and finally got one.i love it so far,it perfect to me.

When bleeding the slave out of the trans and vertically, when bleeding it are we pumping the clutch pedal or are we pushing the rod that moves in and out? Just clarifying lol I hope this works tonight.
