Default Windshield

Bought Jeep back in Dec. Last Friday took the first rock into the front windshield. Just wondering how many others have replaced their windshield. Earlier than they thought?

I feel incredibly lucky. I have a 2012 with over 27000 miles on it. Not a single chip. However, there are lots of threads on here about windshield replacement. Naturally more common than most vehicles due to upright nature of the glass.

If it's not cracked, just get it repaired, there is more to come.

NEVER put your defrost on high heat in the winter. That's a sure way to make a chip quickly propagate into a crack

Yea man that makes a nasty noise. First cold turn heater up all the way. Even with side window cracked it was a scary noise. It made that loud crack noise, thought someone threw something before I realized what happened. Won't make that mistake again.

Yeah, and another thing: don't spray cold hose water on a hot windshield. I did that before on my first brand new car in college. Was a 95 degree day and I decided to wash my car. As soon as the water hit the windshield I heard a loud "pop" and had a crack from one end to the other.
