Default Axle strenght

I have a 2013 unlimited rubicon. I'm upgrading to a rock krawler 3.5 lift and for sure 35's. But I've been tossing around the idea of 37's. I eventually want 37s any ways so for $300 why not do it the first time. Now to my question, I know at a minimum I should do c gussets but should I also sleeve. What's ballpark cost of sleeving and gussets. Any thing more than about $250-300 will put me out of budget. Thanks for the help!

I'd try to find a friend to weld them. You can purchase parts for under $300 but the welding included will be the problem...

You could always do the Nitro Sleeves which are a press fit, no welding required. Then you can have someone weld the C's. Most places will want to remove the ball joints to do this but it is possible to do with out removing the ball joints.

PM us if you are interested in a quote on everything you need for your build up. We will get you the best prices possible.

I got my pure jeep truss and gussets for $130 shipped and paid a local jeep welder $50.

Artec makes a good truss system at a very reasonable price. The problem will e welding it in. Just with any other manufacturers truss system. I called a local speciality off road shop to get a quote. $600 to weld it in properly. To do it correctly you should drop the axle and remove the ball joints. It's a very labor intensive task. A lot if start stop due to the heat that is generated by welding.

Do a search. There are countless threads on here asking the same question. A few do a great job describing the difference in strength between sleeves and trusses. Start here and I suggest you follow Jkred as he knows his stuff. (The post directly above mine in the linked thread.)

Will you be regearing for the new 37's? You could do the gussets now and then do sleeves/truss/gears at the same time to hopefully save a little on labor. Check around with a few shops to see what makes sense.

Ill probably be regearing and doing Tom woods drive shafts for my birthday in October. Is that too long to wait for this kind of thing or should I be able to get by without bending/breaking?

I know when trussing the welding has to be done by an extremely talented welder to prevent warping but for sleeves how critical is this. My uncle knows how to weld and used to be a helicopter mechanic so if it isn't something that you have to have specific practice doing that's a good option.
