Default I'm over my top

I am having an issue with my top. Not that it leaks (They all do eventually). Not that it can be a pain to take up and down by myself (though I've gotten really good and fast). Not that I hate zipping the windows up.

My issue is that I LOVE going topless. I recently moved from Las Vegas, where it rarely rains, to Orlando where it rains everyday. It's the heart of summer and i'm stuck inside a closed up Jeep. The carpets are getting wet and staying damp and I can't take the top on and off every time I drive to and from work.

So, My thought is to take it all off. The top, the hardware, the carpet. Get an emergency top, rain gear, a cab cover, Slush mats and maybe a mesh top (Also, bed-line it soon). Keep it covered with the cab cover at work and at night. Use the emergency top if a storm creeps in and just live with the fact that I'm in Florida and my Jeep is going to get wet.

I'm looking for suggestions though. Does anyone else do this? If so, how do you cope with the rain? Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

$.02 welcomed.

Thanks.

If you have the two freedom hard top panels, put those on with the doors leave the rest open. Oh, get ride of the carpet!

Definitely get rid of the carpet and pull the drain plugs. If you stuck on going topless, an emergency cab cover may work while it's parked. I've never put one on though, so I'm not sure how easy it is.

If I go topless now, my scalp gets sunburned too quick. For hot summer days, I leave the top on, and go doorless now. It's not quite the same, but saves my head. It's also pretty comfortable even when the temps hit the mid 90's, because now I'm always in the shade. Leaves the interior fairly protected from flash showers as well, unless the wind is blowing it in from the side.

You could always do what a lot of guys do in Florida. Bikini top and no doors for 10 months a year and soft top for the winter. Winter is unpredictable with 40 degree nights and 50 degree days. But it only lasts for about two months.

This might be a viable option without carpet and adding a cab cover for over night (keeps my work closes from getting wet from the morning dew).

Great feedback.

I run a bikini top with just a duster and no carpets...looks great and keeps me dry for the most part.

I love the look with no hard wear. Is there a good bikini top that works without the side hard wear, or even the from bar?
