Default Axel shaft replacement

I will be upgrading my front shafts with a set of G2 shafts today! Any pointers on how to do this would be great! . I have seen videos and I recently changed my ball joints so I have a pretty good idea how to do it. But any advice would be sweet.

Few things I generally do and suggest:

1) Never let the caliper suspend/hange from the brake line. I usually suspend it from the frame with a wire hanger.

2) Disconnecting the ESP sensor is easier done at the plug behind the shock tower than removing the sensor from the unit bearing.

3) Leaving the unit bearing/hub bolts partially threaded and tapping them with a dead blow hammer helps pop them off.

4) Make sure the factory axle guide (little plastic disk) is removed from the tube before installing the new axle. They have a tendancy to fall off and can get caught, ripping your seal.

5) Put a generous layer of grease on the axle shaft where the inner axle seal rides before installing the new shaft. This will keep the seal moist cool and prevent it from drying out, cracking, and leaking.

That's what that weird plastic disc thing was... Does it matter if its not there or is it just help re install the shaft when you remove it??

Doesn't matter if the guide is there or not...it just helps with the install. As stated, just make sure none of them have fallen off in the axle tube before pushing in the new shaft.

Think those directions are pretty straight forward...

Oddball tools..

13mm 12 point to get the unit bearings loose.
35mm socket to get at the axle nut.

Might have to smack the end of the axle around a bit to get the splines to slip off the unit bearing.. If you can, soak them down from the backside with PB Blaster a time or two a day or two before you get started.. For that matter soak the bolts that hold the bearings to the C down good too..
