I did my front pinion seal last weekend. Rear may be different.

Special tools: a capable impact gun, paint pen and or torque wrench, and a 1-1/8 inch socket.

Remove diff cover to drain fluid clean off old gasket and spray out the diff with some brake cleaner.
Go to the other side and use paint pen to mark a line thru diff, pinion carrier, drivline and the pinion nut. Take note how deep the nut is. (How many threads are showing)
Remove drivline then mark the nut.
Use 1-1/8 inch socket and impact gun to remove pinion nut. If you have a puller use it to get the pinion off. If not a rubber mallet and some evenly placed light hits around it can get it off.
Use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to remove the old seal by hammering the screw driver in to the perimeter slightly and prying all the way around.
Put the new seal in with a flat faced or finish hammer by lightly tapping until its com pearly seated.
Replace pinion so your marks you made earlier lign up. Then replace pinion nut making sure to put it on in the same location use red locktight. then check torque. Should be close to 130.
Replace drivline and torque bolts to 50(?)
Put rtv on the diff cover and put cover back on. Torque cover bolts to 25. Put in fluid.

Good luck.
