In my 2013 (I'm sure it's in previous models too) JKU there is a plastic hook - almost like a paper holder or bag holder - to the bottom right of the front dash panel. Does anyone actually use this thing? To think Jeep could have just put another AV port or better yet a USB port or hell even a bottle opener would be more useful than that plastic nub.

 

It's actually labeled the "grocery bag holder" per the parts book, but I don't have one in my 2010 :dunno:

Yeah its pretty lame. I wrap my stereo cable around it. Another 12V outlet would have been great.

 

What? I thought it was a sunglasses holder? Haha well I use it as a sunglasses holder, makes it convenient to not have my glasses kicking around getting scratched

 

Some option packages come with 2 12volt outlets in the dash, if you don't have the outlet you get the hook.

 

12V outlet on one side, the power mirrors joystick on the driver's side. Is that the location this is in?

 

Is there anyone here that would fabricate a bezel for me that would allow me to install a 12V outlet in the bag holder socket
I could send my bag holder plug and outlet to you for fabrication

I managed to fabricate a bezel myself out of the grocery bag holder to allow install of an additional 12 volt socket,
Turned out very nice.
