Default Blacked out grill?

Thinking about blacking out my grill, kinda like the Isreali military jeeps. I have a new JKU in Commando Green. Saw a few pix with a Rhino Lined black grill and a few with a plastic dipped one... Any suggestions for something that will be durable without the risk of it peeling with rock chips, etc.

If you're not sure about it then plasti-dip will give you an idea of the look, but you've already seen this done and I'm assuming like the look since you're inquiring so I'd go with bed liner (commercial or DIY, whatever you choose) for the durability.

It is. Plastidip is removable by just peeling off if you want to.

heres mine. First i plasti dipped it matte black to see if i liked it. I did, so i bought rustoluem bed liner paint. Painted it on there, and then used a duplicolor trim paint to paint over it. I did that to make sure all the matte blacks matched on the car.

Rustoleum rattle can bed liner here also, two years and holding up great with the occasional touch up for scratches and rock dings.

Pay no attention to the bugs and mud

Any tricks for prepping the grill or is it spray and pray with the rattlecan?
