Default Best Product for 3rd Brake Light Mod

Wanting to put a larger tire on the spare tire carrier and I'm looking for a product that will give me a 3rd brake light extension so that it is visible.

Some folks have modified the stock third brake light so that it is a bit higher. If interested in that you should be able to find them using search. There is also the Off Road Only third brake light kit. The advantage with that is if you also are moving the license plate, it provides a light for it.

Off Road Only LD-PL6 - Off Road Only LiteDOT Plate Light - Quadratec

That is what I have. It can be a little tricky wiring it up. If done the way that's obvious and easy, your third brake light will blink with one (but not both) of the turn signals. LOL. Again, search can help you find the correct info (as well as the incorrect info--sadly it's buried also somewhere on this site).

I was looking at this spacer and extension thing from Warrior Products.

But didn't know if there are any cheaper alternatives to something like this.

I used to run the Teraflex extension bracket. It's adjustable depending on tire size and cleared my 35s easily.

Since then, I've switched over to the ORO light mentioned above.

Here's a very affordable product we recently released.. Works with both recessed lugs and flush mount lugs (common w/ steel wheels). Let me know if you have any questions.

Default Light ears

I tried the stock light extension when I went big with swinging carrier. My problem was the extension was too close to my carrier and they clanged together.

Another problem with my carrier is the handle partially hid the license plate.

I finally bit the bullet and got the spare tire license plate mount with brake light:
Warrior Products 2380 - Warrior Products Spare Tire License Plate Mount with 3rd Brake Light - Quadratec

Not cheap but worth it. I wired it with 4-wire trailer plug for weatherproof easy disconnect. Even mounted a backup camera to it.

Used the MOPAR license bracket delete plastic cover to fill the old license void.

Very happy with the results!

Only problem... my plate numbers fell off.
