Default Brake lines hanging after 2" lift

I've had my '09 JK for less than a month. Bought it from a dealer - previous owner installed a 2" lift. I brought it in to my local speed shop to have a hitch installed and they noticed that it was missing brackets to hold the brake lines that extend to account for the lift and keep them from just hanging there.

The dealership is trying to back away from this since they didn't do the lift. And they don't know what lift it is. I'm thinking they have to make good on this...

I'm having the speed shop fab the brackets - it's apparently easier for them to fab them than to find the brackets that should have been installed in the first place.

I don't know anything about lift kits - but I do know that the brake lines are taking the paint off the chassis and it has to be done. Any thoughts? Is there a good reason that the previous owner didn't install them?

Thanks!

Several companies sell extension brackets. Or many of us just spent $5 at a local hardware store and made our own. I used fence menders that already have holes drilled in them, just bent them a bit to get the lines back under the frame a bit and then hit them with some black spray paint I had on hand, so it was a quick and simple bolt-on.

Thanks. I guess, no matter what, it's minor anyway.

You seriously paid someone to install a hitch? Like the one that attaches to the back frame??

^^It's your choice if you install parts etc, to each their own. make sure you get the brake lines done correctly, and measure for drop on each side.

Can't help with the hitch, but there are a few DIY brakeline extension threads to be found.
