Default Need at least front DS questions within

Finally ready to replace both DS. Questions - with TF 2.5 coil lift do I need to worry about pinion setting? Well known write up does not seem to be concerned with this. Probably go with Reel. I also have 2012 2 door. Can I just do this install myself?

It can be done in a garage. Air-tools help a lot.

You can do it yourself in the garage. Not sure if you will need to correct pinion with a lift at that height, but take a look at it after you install. Better safe than sorry.

Here's a chart to help:

For the front DS, you should be good; though it's possible that you may need to adjust the rear - it is very easy to do, but you'll need adjustable rear control arms to do it.

Best thing to do once it's installed is to check the angles; you can either use an angle finder gauge, or even something like the iHandy Level app on the iphone (I'm sure android has something similar) can work as well. Check the angle of the drive shaft as it sits installed, and then check the angle of the pinion; ideally you'll want the pinion to be about 1 degree less than the driveshaft. Of course the ultimate test is really just to take it for a test drive... if it's running smooth you are good; if you get a vibration, then you probably need to adjust your pinion angle.

The pinion adjustment question will depend on what angles they are set at, since caster and pinion are adjusted at the same time. Raising caster automatically lowers the pinion, and vice-versa. As you go higher, it becomes a balancing act.

So if it drives great (high caster) but has vibes (low pinion) you will want to adjust it.

If you get vibes, you need to adjust for no vibes. As said above it's a back and forth game.Best thing for that is set your pinion and don't worry about caster
