Default Spidertrax wheel spacers ?

Hello again, I am wondering what the pros and cons are when it comes to running wheel spacers. I know when I used to have a VW spacers were a nightmare and used to crack and etc. also I wanted to know if they would look silly on a jeep that is not lifted.

As long as you use quality hub centric spacers (like spidertrax) and they are properly installed they are fine.

Ran them for about 25k miles before I got new rims, no issues at all. Use loctite when you install, check the torque soon after initial installation. After that, check them every time you rotate your tires. Don't forget to take the little clips off of your factory lugs or the spacer will not sit flush with the hub.

As said above only use a quality hub centric spacer like Spidertrax

The only issue I ran into is some shops would not do anything to the Jeep that involved removing or re-installling the Tires/Rims for "Liability" reasons.

eg, brake job, tire rotation etc.

I did find it pushed the edge of the tire beyond the fenders and the Jeep would chuck big hunks of mud with my MTR/K's

Have never ran into that issue. Hell my dealer even replaced the studs on the one I messed up this summer. If you do get them.. I would get Spidertrax. Great product, and great support. I snapped a lug/bolt this summer (swapped a tire, and it came loose on a crappy road - my fault, only tightened up lugs once, and didn't check them when I hit highway 100 miles later). Instead of having to replace the entire spacer, I ordered the lugs from Spidertrax for $10.

If they're installed properly with loctite you shouldn't have any worries. I have a set with zero issues.

X2. They are only really needed when running wider tires on the factory wheels.

I sure wish Spidertrax made a 1" or even a 1.25" spacer for the new rubicon rim. Is there a reason that it is not feasible to use a spacer less then 1.5" with the new rubicon style rim? Seems like 1-1.25" would give just enough clearance and would still be slightly inside the flares.

The spacers have to be thicker than the stock lug studs are long, otherwise, you would need to cut off the ends of the studs.

while I have not confirmed this a direct competitor of Spidertax says that the new rubicon rims have a void in the backside so the studs do not interfere with a solid fit and do not have to be cut down. Anybody have a 13-14 rubicon rim that they can look and see on?
