5.5 Rock Krawler x factor pro long arm kit and RK x factor long arm kit the same?
I am going to buy a Rock Krawler long arm suspension and I was looking at quadratic and they only have a x factor long arm called a 'Rock Krawler X Factor Pro Long Arm System 5.5" Rock Krawler Suspension KJK55XFLA4 - Rock Krawler X Factor Pro Long Arm System 5.5" for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door - Quadratec I then looked at Rock Krawlers official web site and There was not a "pro" version. I was thinking that it was just Quadratec adding the word "pro" but then I was looking at Rock Krawlers website and then noticed that there was a "JK 3.5" Off Road Pro Long Arm System" JK 3.5" Off Road Pro Long Arm System. I was just wondering If Rock Krawler use to make a "pro" version of the 5.5 x factor long arm and they took it off the market but quadratic still has a few in stock or it just quadratec trying to make it sound cooler.
Thanks
Thanks
Rock krawler uses Pro to signify kits that have aluminum arms vs. steel. In addition to that, the latest iteration of the Pro kit has straight front lowers instead of bent lowers found in non pro kits and in the original Pro series kits.
The link you posted from Quadratec has steel arms in the description so I think its a typo that Pro is in the title.

Well I'd like to start off by saying thank you to all of the forum family. This topic of running long arms has got me in my wife and my brother who run the new rough country long arm kits on our jks shaking our heads. My younger brother is running the EVO 3.5 x long arm on his JK and so I can speak for both long arm kits. A lot of the bashing that goes on here about rough country is simply that most people are not familiar with their newer products and their joints have been redesigned and are not the old long arm kits for the earlier jks which were always self-destructing. It is a true four link long arm with all the components necessary with springs and shocks. The steel utilized is on par with the Evo kit and I can testify to that because I was the one that installed it for my brother. Ironically, all three JKUS running the rough country LA kit have not had any problems with the lower links but my brother's EVO LA kit has had to rebuild two of the lower links that failed over the last three years. We're all doing the same trails we've all gone to the same locations between Moab, the Rubicon, and Colorado trails. The rough country long arm kit handles superbly on the highway so much better than my stock jku and I'm speaking from experience. I have no affiliation with rough country nor do I want to take on bashing wars on this forum. I'm simply trying to provide information on a product that I have a lot of experience with. I would bet that most of the people that are complaining about Rough Country have had little to no experience with the new LA kit. This reply is just to let people know the facts. The rough country kit is a fine kit the price point is where all these kits should be at. Just because it's cheaper than the rest doesn't make it inferior. There are some brackets that probably could be a little bit stronger but the brackets that I installed for the front and rear arms are beefy 1/4 inch welded up and secure to the frame are extremely strong and the bolts that they come with are hardened and strong. It would take some massive beatings and me trying to hurt my undercarriage to destroy these long arms. The good thing about the arms is they're really beefy and the upper and lower bushings or x-links are so much better than the originals that came out 10 years ago. When it comes time to change out the bushings or links, I can simply go to iron Rock off Road or Rock Jock for some stronger or even more durable links. However, I'm not at that point yet I've got over 37,000 miles on this kit and it's gone off-road quite heavily and on Road on a daily basis without any problems, squeaks for vibrations. As with any of these bolt on that is, installation is bolt on kits maintenance is key. Lots of people complain about these joints not only for the rough country but EVO and alike. Mostly that the joints get destroyed easily and don't last as long as they should. I am a maintainer and every time before I go out, I grease every one of my joints and grease fittings. Especially the lowers since they get flexed quite a bit. If you're the kind of guy that just wants to drive it and not maintain it until it breaks and then you want to complain, well that's on you. However if you maintain them you will see they will last for quite a long time regardless of which product you're using. Don't steer away from rough country don't listen to a lot of the hype and all the haters. Simply put, these forums are for information not for haters to vent without having experience. Rough Country of new has some very good products out there as with every company not everything is great but when it comes to price point and getting a value and getting a great product, Rough Country is one of those companies.
