Pulling a car hauler.
Anybody use their jeep to pull a car hauler with a car on it? I've got a 66 mustang and a 18 car hauler and we're headed to the coast this October just wondering how it will do.

That's a lot of trailer for the jeep. I've pulled a 6x12 enclosed (total weight of 3k lbs) and it was painful. I've also pulled a 5x12 flat with 2 atv's (total weight of 2k lbs) and it was fine- pulled fine at 80mph until I hit some wind.
Trailer brakes are essential if you do it though, it's a lot of weight for the jeep to stop.

Be sure and consult your manual regarding towing. The JKU will definitely tow better and straighter than the short wheel base. It doesn't matter how much power you have, or what gearing - the real limiting factor is having rear coil springs. Definitely more rear end and trailer sway. Be careful !!

I have a '12 JKUR. Pulled a 3k# trailer before and after lift and tires. Pulled it ok on level ground, but hills were a challenge as well as stopping. I wouldn't attempt a car hauler with a car on it.
