Default 2dr Hard top Jeeps windows down

Anybody drive around with the tailgat glass open to avoide the interior tornado while driving with the door windows down?

If you haven't tried this, it makes a huge difference. Just worried it will cause premature wear on the window hinges and shocks.

I wonder if a sunroof over the back compartment would work as well?

What do you think?

I tried this once, and I have to say it made a world of difference .
but then I started to worry if I hit a bump in the road it may flex the glass and break it, so I pulled over and closed it.
I would be interested in other ideas as well.

^^^this was my experience also. Bumps put extra stress on the struts and hinges that they weren't designed for.

I've driven on a very rocky beach with it up and no issues. I will say I was worried about it breaking the whole time. I ended buying the trektop nx for the warm months so I don't have to deal with it. Money well spent I might add!

I take the freedom panels off and open the gate glass all the time. No problems on these pot hole covered roads in Ohio.

Rear window is not to hard to remove. 4 bolts, an electrical connector, the defrost wires snap off like a clothes snap, and a hose.

Still I wonder.
Going to look in to a sunroof for the back. Kiddos would like it as well.
Ya, take the top off, I know. It doesn't always fit into the schedule. I love driving with the freedom tops off, windows down. Just don't like the interior wind tunnel. It would be cool if the side glass tilted out?
