Nebie Question-Tire Sensors
Must the tires be removed to use sensors out of a 2013 Unlimited Sahara with 7000 miles? Or can they be removed thru valve stem? Also can they be reused in new aftermarket tires and rims that I am going to purchase or do I have to purchase new? Tight budget.
Alternatively if you don't care about actually having TPMS you can shut it off with the AEV Procal.
As mention to reuse your OEM sensors, they are inside the tires and the tires will need to be partially removed to access them. I tire shop will have to do this. Also in order to reuse the sensor part, you will need a set of valve stems, Slime/1 1/2 in. TPMS snap-in tire valve stem (20172) | Tire Valve Stem | AutoZone.com
Or can use the AEV procal to disable the TPMS system and no longer need sensors.
Or can purchase a new set of sensors, Amazon.com: SET OF FOUR (4) JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS TPMS 56029398AB: Automotive
I went with option 3, avoiding the hassle of messing with the tires. These are the sensors I purchased for my '13 and they worked just fine. They sync up on their own.

They can be re-used. Some tire shops will want you to buy a rebuild kit ( O-rings and schrader valve) so they know it won't leak, but I have moved mine successfully without the rebuild. They were on wheels that I sold though but never had him come back.
