Default Magnetic Rims?

I know it's not the case but it does seem my tires are attracting metal objects on the road. I've had two flats caused by metal objects in the past couple of months. Granted it probably has nothing to do with Jeeps or even offroad but I'm sure there are others out there who feel like their tires are nail magnets. I had a similar discussion with three other drivers in the tire shop this afternoon. Share your deflated experiences.

I feel that my windshield is a rock magnet. I've had two rocks chip my windshield in three weeks

I have not had tire or rim damage, but i did get a rock chip in the windshield. The next day the chip was a 2 foot crack. It sucks i have only had my JKU for 2 months. First jeep and i love it, even with the "dimple mod" which was added about a week after purchase.

This just happened to me! Going to Oklahoma (god-forsaken land) I don't know if I should leave it be for a while or go through insurance for a replacement.

I have both an after market dimple and hardness test on my windshield. I agree, Jeep windshields do tend to attract flying objects. The Jeep windshield is a bug exterminator, entire species have become extinct on my windshield (or at least it's possible considering the layers of bugs I get at times).

Oh, we have fun out here ...

K-Trail II, February 2013: http://youtu.be/j88zqOVAMqE But if your insurance allows you a replacement, could you please make it more like Utah or Colorado or Arizona? ;-)

Not sure about the tire magnet but windshield tends to get more rock chips due to the angle of the windshield. Rocks can skid over other car windshields but a virtually straight up and down windshield is always going to take the most direct hit. For example, look at bug splatter on your Jeep windshield and then look at it on a more aerodynamic car......theirs will spread up and over the car where as your Jeep will splatter in one spot. Hope that wasn't too graphic.

Maybe the tire magnet has to do more with how we drive or park. I am always looking for some place unique to park and drive my Jeep...on the grass, over the curb, through every mud puddle... Always looking for a little offroad in everyday life. I drive my other vehicle like the boring car that it is....

Yeah, my dog likes to rub itself against things too...

I have noticed my gas gauge is faulty, it seems it is stuck on empty...
