Default Heavy bead locks + 35's - do I need front axle kit?

Newbie question here... Just got some ATX Slabs (17x9) and ordering 35's soon. Wondering if I should get a front and or rear axle kit to strengthen everything due to the added weight of the heavier wheels and tires.

Thanks in advance.

You could get C-gussets at a minimum but it really depends on how you plan to wheel your rig. If you plan on some rock crawling than you may want to look at some additional bracing. I have been running 35's and beadlocks with heavy Nitto Mud Grapplers for about a year now and I am just getting around to putting C-gussets on. Thankfully I have not bent anything yet and I try to wheel at least 1 a month so my D30 gets used quite a bit.

C-gusset and sleeve (unless you are a good welder, then a truss). Or, if you can afford a new axle, let it be and since you bend it, upgrade. You can sleeve and gusset your axle for $200, so it's cheap insurance.

Thanks for the responses. It's a Rubi so I have the D44 so I'll probably stick with the $200 route and wait to upgrade until when I break it (hopefully never ha ha).

If you sleeve and gusset it, you should never have issues with the housing (unless you roll 40" tires or larger). Eventually, you will want new HD ball joints. If you break a lot of shafts, get some RCVs and you should be able to wheel without failure.
