Poly does work well but don't fool yourself if you think they won't need replacing. Poly urethane will pack out over time, often starts cracking as well. The company I work for has a number of patents with Many materials as well as urethane. Urethane is good but not immune to the same issues.

I got a grade 8 bolt kit and it helps a lot. You can tell a difference. Best 30 bucks I ever spent.

If you want tight look into hems. I got about a month of use out of poly bushings before they were toast.

I forgot to mention. I installed urethane bushings on my Volvo motor mounts. Sure, they absorbed more vibration. But, anytime you soften urethane, it has more oil and other additives added in to soften the matrix and it leads to quicker wear.

The mounts worked great but I replaced far more often than rubber motor mounts. About 1 time a year on average.

And, in the cold, urethane is very susceptible to being affected by temps. Cold, they get really stiff.

Silicone would be best. But I don't know if anyone has silicone available for this application.

Sounds like worn out parts to me. Ball joints/TRE's specifically. The 9/16 bolt kit is always a good idea too.
