Default 4.88 or 5.13 Gears????

It's time to regear... Who has uprgaded their gearing to 4.88 or 5.13? Are you happy with your choice? How are 5.13s to drive in traffic on on the highway? How has you gas milage changed? What are you recommendations?

I drive a 2 dr Sahara with 35"Toyos. It is an auto, I went with 4:88 gears and wish I had gone with 5:13's at 70 mph I am turning about 2500 rpms. You might be better with the stick. I find myself locking out the OD quite often. I really dont check my milage too close because the speedo is not accurate. I think it is off by about 10% by the roadside speed reminders.
It is a huge difference from the 4:10s. Good Luck.

Yup this question comes up weekly. Since you have a stick you might as well go with the 4.88s.

If you plan to stay w/ 35's, the 4.88's will definately be fine with the 6 spd. If you plan to go bigger in the future, it's a toss-up between 4.88's and 5.13's. Most seem to go for the 5.13's, but I'm satisfied w/ my 4.88's.
