Exclamation Can I get a good winch and front bumper for $1400?

That is approx. what Uncle Sugar is going to refund me for using the extra tax money I paid in over the last year. I really like Warn, but Ramsey looks good too. I know Ramsey's are made in the US; not sure about Warn. I'd like the bumper to have foglights. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, as wells as pics. Thanks. BTW, I have little if any luck with the search function. I either get little or nothing, or way too much to go through. One last thought. I would like to have this done before the Jeep Jamboree in Palo Duro Canyon, 16-18 May, so it would have to be a company that doesn't have the part on backorder for 6 months.

You can get the Expedition1 Basic for 189 plus shipping and the Smittybilt 8000 winch for 284 shipped and have a lot left over. I don't intend on breaking the bank when I buy a winch because I know I won't need it that often. I'm just not gonna wheel my Jeep that hard.

I paid $1360 for a warn front bumper with the skid plate and hoop and a mile marker 9500lb winch. I finally got to use my winch last sunday and it worked excellent.

As for bumpers, take your pick and hope they have it in stock or it doesn't get hijacked by the dreaded DHL bumper fairies (That is another story.. )
Cool. I didn't know they made a 10000 pound yet.

For less than $1400 you can buy the new LOD stubby bumper and a Superwinch EPi 9.....At least thats what i did yesterday Bumper with the skidplate and shipping/taxes was around $670, winch was around $600. I probably wont be using the winch as much as it is intended to be used, but i like the peace of mind knowing that when i do need it, it will be reliable and working.

Well A little more description would help all of us. what kind of front bumper do you like? Stubby, Midwidth or full? Also what is the size your thinking for a winch? If you had $700.00 set aside for each talk to anyone of the vendors on this site and I'm sure they'd build a package deal for you. The only issue they will have is what size for each.

Bumper comparison in the sticky for the Mod section will give you a reasonable idea of what is available and we all try to keep the latest included in that thread. As for Winches Look up a few writeups from TEEJ as he's done an excellent job on explaining the pro's and cons of winches and what to get and avoid. He wrote the best explaination ever on the time winching vs. time cooling and the plus and minus of electric and hydrolic winches. Basically Speed matters if you don't want to waste critical wheeling time.

Don't forget to upgrade the battery as stock battery is only rated at 600 cranking amps and most winches require 650 or higher. Good way to toast a battery even if the alternator is charging it.

Damn, you guys are cooking today. I really appreciate all the helpful comments. That's a change from what I usually get. I think I want an 8000 LB winch and a middy bumper. If we have any vendors with a package deal, so much the better.
