Default Thots on Lift?

New to the forum.. First post

Have a 2014 JKUR. 4.10 with manual trans. Looking to do moderate lift. Jeep is 3rd vehicle that my wife and I share. Mostly on road, but we do some offroad trips (no crazy rock climbing), trails, etc

Here is what I am looking for

1)Good road manners/handling. My wife hates my old YJ with 4 in lift because it is tough for her to drive.

2)Want to maintain /keep driveline intact. Looking for long term dependability

3)Increase off road capability over stock

4)Want to runs 35s with no rubbing

Research so far is pointing me to AEV 2.5 with correction brackets. thots?

A buddy is steering me toward metal cloak, but it seems like a bit of over kill for my application and not sure about the road manners

Also with 4.10s and manual be okay with 35s

Thanks in advance

They are two totally different lifts with different appraoches to correcting geometry. Once you decide on what you are doing with the jeep and what size tires the choice will become clear. The search fucntion will show hundreds of "what lift" threads on most every brand out there. Most people are served well with a budget boost lift for what they do. My thougts on lifts covers the rest.

All of my jeep experience (lift etc) is with leaf springs. LOL. can anyone break down the difference approach of the AEV vs Metal cloak? I have been surfing multiple forums, threads etc. but can find the exact answer

Leaning toward AEV, by my criteria. But want to know if I am missing something

Thx

What are the two lifts you are comparing? they both make multiple kits.

I think I want to go 2.5. So. Aev 2.5 dual sport. (With brackets). Vs the metal cloak dual rate. (Realize I need shocks with metal cloak)

Also Thought about Aev 3.5 sc vs metal cloak dual rate ARB But worried about driveline issues, etc

Thx

If you're worried about the driveline issues you're better off to stick with the 2.5" lift.

MetalCloak and AEV both make great kits. You'd likely be happy with both.

On the contrary though, I'd you just want to run 35's with some light wheeling, that recommendation above with the MetalCloak Overline fenders and 35's was a nice idea. No issues with driveline or geometry, maintain stock ride, more ground clearance with the bigger tires.
