Default Going topless on trails...

how many of you guys roll topless on the trails? From so cal so much of my outings are very sandy and dusty. Just went topless and added some straps but worried it will be a filthy mess if I go out. Any experiences appreciated.

i am always topless (and doorless) unless its too cold. it takes away from the experience. i also ran top and doors off for an entire week at the beach. i was vacuuming sand out for months but completely worth it.

depends on your preference i guess.

It all comes out in a couple minutes of highway driving. Trust me.

I usually run trails topless and doorless. Yes it gets dusty inside, but my local carwash only charges me $5.00 more for interior wipe down. The biggest issue running the jeep that way is when I forget sunblock. You can see and navigate obstacles better without the doors (or at least thats my excuse to the wife).

My Jeep has never been wheeled with doors or soft top windows. Yes, its a pain to clean, but worth it in my opinion.

Granted, I just clean my entire interior with nothing more than a hose and a scrub brush.

Wheeling/not wheeling, during summer months I rarely have top or doors on. I live pretty deep in the country on a dirt road, and work at a manufacturing facility where raw materials (sand, soda ash, ect) is constantly in the air. Interior get filthy. Still worth it. It'll all wash/vacuum out. Just takes some time and quarters.

I wheel doorless and topless all the time. I got the jeep so muddy in January I couldn't get the doors shut or closed without washing it first I'm still finding mud places but it's worth it. I usually takes me about $10 in quarters to go from post wheeling-mud caked on- dirty to just off the lot clean.

If your concern is getting dirty you should probably stay at home and wax it. It's work to keep it clean, and more if there's still carpet. I prefer top and doors off since the windows are expensive to replace when torn and doors dent plus my lesser experience I have to hang my head out to see while I do something different than what my spotter says- dents prove I should listen more.

I prefer to be topless and doorless, but I won't lie. If I feel there is a good chance of being in mud, I will for sure have my doors on and I will put the top up before I go through and put it back down after I get through. I went through mud once back when I had my TJ with top town and doors off. I found mud in places I couldn't even imagine for months afterwards, not to mention the pita it was to clean the seats (cloth) and to get mud out of the nooks and crannies.
