Hey All,
Sorry if this has been asked and played out, but it's my first post here and figured I'd get a head start before I weed through the forum here and see what I could find. I have a 2015 JEEP Wrangler Sport S 2 door and would "like" o keep the door black, and preferably locking. I live in CT, so the weather here is anything but cooperative (e.g. snow, rain, wind, extreme weather changes - sometimes daily, etc.) Am I better off with aluminum, or stainless steel? Any suggestions (other than top asking us this @#$% question...LOL)would be greatly appreciated...

 

Personally i prefer aluminum anywhere i dont need steel for strength. Sure there is a minute weight savings but for me its the rust factor. When off road i always ended up getting mud and stones in the back half of the fuel fill area so that factored in to my decision. Honestly though i wouldnt bother with a lock. Just last week at my work someone decided to steal gas from the company vehicles. The two that didnt have locking caps got siphoned. The 3 that did have locks got the gas tanks drilled. Your call though

I hear ya. It's too bad there are people out there that will go to that extent to take something that isn't theirs! Anyway, thanks a lot for the input. I'm still deciding, so we'll see which one I land up with...
