Default New Jeep, some build questions

Have a brand new Rubi, two door, and wondering where to start the build. I know, normally would be looking at lift and tires. Well, that's a problem. I am looking at knee replacement surgery in the near future, so climbing in and out of a lifted jeep will have to wait.

So how would I build a rig without a lift?

I have read Dirtman's thread https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...-lifts-288269/

I bought a Rubi so I would have the D44 in front and back, and lockers and electronic disconnects. Figured I would be halfway there with the build.

So I am thinking, front bumper, winch, ACE sliders (they do fit over rubi rails, yes?), flat fenders, 33"s

Should I regear to 4.56? If so, I would probably upgrade axle shafts in rear, and RCVs in front.

I am adding some weight, should I add spacers to compensate?

What am I not thinking of? Is this viable?

Thanks

The new tires will be all of an inch taller than the stock ones. You have 4.10's now, (or 3.73's?), don't worry about gearing, you'll be fine.

Wait until after you add the bumper/winch/whatever else before you start considering spacers. Kinda makes sense to see how it sits afterward before deciding how tall you need, or if you need.

Ace sliders do fit over rubi rails.

You might consider gussets (and depending on actual use, sleeves or a truss) before spending money on alloys and rcv's.

Thanks.

I am in TX now, but did most of my wheeling in AR and Moab. So I may be a bit paranoid about axles, I have seen so many axles and u-joints break.

I only have 3.73s. For some reason, the dealers here don't get the 4.10s.

Someone on here was saying that the stock axle shafts and joints have been beefed up a bit on the newer models. Haven't seen any confirmation, though. But if you have the extra money laying around, why not. You'll have nice trail spares for everyone else.
