Default Rubi gears in wrangler x?

Obviously I can't use the front because I have a d30 but I want to know if rubi 4.10 gears will fit in my x rear ?

Regearing to 4.10s would be a complete waste of money.

It would make more sense to buy a pair of take-off Rubi axles than to buy bearings and install kits, and then paying labor to regear.

Pardon if my ignorance on all of the parts in a rear axle, but if the gears from a rubi would work in a non-rubi, then why do we have to specifically order rubi gears? And the axle shaft on the drivers side is shorter with a different spline count. Am I missing a component between the shafts and the gears that will allow someone with a non rubi to just take the gears and make them work?

Different length/spline shafts has to do with the different carriers, and the carrier placement in the two different housings. The specific housing/carrier doesn't matter for the gears. No idea why they have different numbers for rubi and non-rubi, but the box for my 'non-rubicon' rear d44 5.38's clearly states Rubicon 5.38. They work just fine.

^ Exactly. There is a difference in JK 44 gears and regular pre-JK gears though.

Are the JK 44 gears thicker compared to the TJ's? Just curious...

Ring gear is slightly larger and the pinion is bigger.

This was posted a while back by Dynatrac in one of the many comparison threads.

Left - non-JK d44
Middle - JK d44
Right - d60

Thought I had saved a side view of them, but can't seem to find it. But I remember many people saying that the 'JK' d44 ring gear is almost as thick as the d60 ring.

And just for comparison, a pic of the jk d30/d44 to kind of see that there is actually a difference between the 30, the non-jk 44, and the jk 44
