Default Tailgate scrape with Teraflex hinge and carrier

So I just got done installing my Teraflex tire carrier, threw my 35" Toyo MT on, and buttoned her all up. I then went to open my tailgate and couldn't because it scrapes the bumper. I have an XRC bumper which is really close to the tailgate to begin with but according to Teraflex, the hinge is supposed to remove the load from the tailgate. Anybody have similar issues with an XRC rear bumper or experience any sag with the Teraflex carrier? I need some solutions here as I really want to keep both the tire carrier and bumper. Possibly drop the rear bumper down? Any help/ideas would be much appreciated!!

Did you block up the tailgate before removing the hinges?

^This. If you didn't do that, you need to re-do it.

Sure did. Had no issues with all the holes lining up. I think it's actually the bumper. I just threw a level on it and it's a little raised on the end which explains the scrape happening near the edge. I was rear ended last year and didn't think much damage was done but it could have been tweaked a little. Shoulda checked that before posting but thanks anyway! We'll see what happens tomorrow when I pull and re-drill the bumper

Did you have an issue with the bumper before? I only ask because at our shop (motorcycle) we always ask what changed and work from there. I had blocked mine up but what I had was a little soft and got some sag so I had to readjust the door up a bit. No biggie. If you had the bumper on before the hinge install and it worked fine then it has to be in the hinge install. But keep us posted.

So it actually opens and closes just fine with about 1/16" of clearance without the tire so it's definitely still sagging under the weight of the tire

We're up and running! Ended up being a combination of both my carrier install (possibly the shims shifting just enough) and the bumper actually being raised a little on the left side. I ended up adjusting the tailgate up almost to where the latch would slightly catch but still close. When I added the tire it dropped down to latch like butter! Thanks for the readjustment advice!
