Default Programmer for stock 2007 jk unlimited worth it or waste of money?

I have a stock 2007 Unlimited Sahara that is a daily driver. Because I am turning this one over to my daughter next year I have no plans on doing any major mods. I am however, kicking around the idea of a programmer to get a little more power out of it but most importantly trying to get those MPG's up. If I'm not doing any off roading, no gear changes, no larger tires, ect... is this a waste of time and money or will it make difference in pick up and gas?

I have the Superchips flashpaq tuner for my 09. I run the "performance tune" with 93 octane. I think there is a noticable improvement in on road driveability. I did not see any significant gain in MPG. I have also tried the "MPG" tune which also did not show any major MPG gain for me - MAYBE 1 mpg. If your major motivation for purchasing a tuner is MPG, I would not suggest it.
