Default Wto red neck ram installed....

What A HUGE Difference in control and the way this thing drives on the streer (Big thanks to Bond and Chris at Rebel, excellent customer service as usual). My wheel/Tire set up is real heavy (150lbs per corner). I would hit a rut/pothole or uneven road surface and the front was all over the place. I am running 15.5 wide tires and they would grab every rut and the wheel would jerk around in my hand. Those days are over! I just put on an brand new front end and aligment and the Jeep only has 6k miles so there were no worn out parts.

The only downside is it really binds up in slow speed parking. I have to go much slower in parking lots when parking. I assume this is normal? Rebel measured it per WTO directions and we went with a 1.7 ram. The low speed/parking sucks now, but the improvement in daily driving in is well worth it.

I am hoping when I get on the rocks it works better than trying to turn the wheel while parking

It wont be better id say. Rpm will help, but only to a degree. What size ram did they use? 1.5? You could add a new pump to fix that lag.

So looking at PSC site I assume this would be the pump?

PSC Motorsports 2012-2015 Jeep JK High Volume Steering Pump Kit - PSC-PK1858

If this will fix the slow speed lag I will pull the trigger on this. Looks like I need a new air filter as well, does anyone know if the Banks intake will work?

unless your wheels weigh 107lbs each your wheel and tire combo is probably closer to 130lbs per corner, which is still heavier than most but not 200lbs. The lag at low rpm when trying to park is a result of flow rate not matching the size of the ram. What components did they install? Did they just tap the box and add a ram? Using the stock pump and reservoir, no cooler?

I never got to weigh them but they are HEAVY. Feels like they are way more than 130lbs though.

I am still running the stock pump. and resevoir. I was told by WTO and Rebel not to run a cooler. Its the WTO stage II kit. If adding the PSC Pump/Resivoir will fix it I will add those.

The pump will fix the lag issue. With a ram that size, you need more flow. So, you have no reservoir and no cooler? That sounds like a bad idea. There needs to be a way to cool the fluid. Volume of fluid helps if you don't want to run a cooler. However, adding a cooler is like $50, so I can't see why you wouldn't.

Oh, and you should ask PSC if there is an issue running the pump without the larger reservoir. The hose going from my res to the pump is massive. That thing needs a lot of fluid coming to it.

Correct, I wanted to add the cooler for cheap insurance and was told it wasnt needed. Ok, I willl be asking that as well. Rebel has installed a coupl of these so I am waiting to hear back.

Part of the reason I avoided PSC was I have seen quite a few posts where people have had issues with their pumps (Some guys have gone through 2-3 pumps). I have heard good things about Howe. I will give them a call today about the Pump/Res.

Your getting more lag than normal because you are using the 1.75 bore ram with the stock pump. One option to lessen the lag is to use the the 1.5 x 7 ram while keeping your stock pump and reservoir. The second option If you want to continue to use the 1.75 ram you will need a more powerful pump like the one from psc like mentioned. Their pump works perfect with that size ram but it's not cheap. I've been running the 1.5 ram with stock pump and cooler and it works great. There is some lag in parking lots but not bad at all u can hardly notice it. If you want I have an extra 1.5 ram I'll sell you for cheap. I'm actually going to post it in the for sale section now.
