I just got done installing Ultimate 60s, 40" Toyos and Redneck Ram. WTO ported and tapped my box and sent me the ram and hoses. I tried it with stock PS pump first. It wasn't good. At idle it really did not want to turn. I had to tap the throttle to get it to turn. I had a few interesting turns into some parking lots. I added the PSC high flow pump and large reservoir kit. I believe that is the one you mentioned because the kit I got was right at 620-650 also. Installed the pump and res and, wow, what a difference, easy steering now even at idle. I haven't added a cooler yet. So far I haven't seen any overheating. But, as Invest said, I need to get out and check the temps after wheeling for awhile. Will do that next time out. BTW, I'm using a 1.5" ram.

Also, what kind of fluid are you using? I'm using regular PS fluid (Valvoline actually). Is regular PS fluid what you guys suggest? Stock was tranny fluid right?

Someone mentioned the pumps going out with PSC kits or just their larger reservoir. The instructions "strictly" say, with the PSC pump you have to have fall from the reservoir to the pump. The pump does not "pull" the fluid in. It only uses gravity to get it's fluid. The shorter the inlet hose to the pump (coming from the reservoir), and the straighter the better. It's hard to find a good spot to mount the reservoir, but it is key to keep the pump alive.

. That's the right size. Just make sure it isn't moving more than your steering box. You want the steering stops on the axle the limiting factor. The ram should never fully extend or compress as it can be damaged.

In the 2012+ it goes where the stock res is located. On the 2007-2011 it goes in the back. I forget where exactly, but if you look up the install instructions on their website, it shows you.

Buy the Swepco from PSC. You need fluid that won't foam. PSC won't warranty anything if you run other fluid,

If your using the psc pump and res go with that swepco stuff like invest said. If you are using the stock pump and res stay with the factory atf+4 fluid

I installed it myself. Took me a couple of hours. Nothing too difficult.

I'm using stock ported and tapped box with PSC pump. I'm using regular power steering fluid. Will this be a problem? So far with about 300 miles and one day of wheeling I don't see any issues.
