Seems to me that these were either softop vehicles or those with no top. I mean, you can't remove the vast majority of doors out there unless you can first open them. So if you have a hardtop, just lock the doors and sleep peacefully that night.
None of the jeeps they show even have the nuts on. The nuts slow the process down and the full doors are heavy enough that they aren't as easy of a target as the half doors.
That being said, a few years back, a guy in my area had his four doors and hard top stolen while he was asleep in a hotel- so anything is possible.

I left my JKU in the parking garage at Union Station in New Haven for two nights last week and I was worried something would happen. I was thinking that my soft top windows would get slashed or stolen. If I would have seen this, I would have put the hardtop on before I went down there!
