Default 35" vers 37" tires with 488 gears

Would like some advice on 35" tires vers 37" tires. I have 2011 jk Serra with 488 gears, 4" lift with XRC mod bumpers. Time to buy tires and other than the weight difference , wheel clearance what should I be aware off if I move up to 37" tires?

You have the 3.8 and from my understanding you would want to run 5:13's if running 37's and 4:88's with 35's. It's probably tolerable to move up to 37's but you will have some power loss if you're running an automatic. Don't forget you'll need a ProCal or other calibration tool to get your shift points and speedo correct.

I'm running 4:88's with 37's with the 3.6 and its perfect.

Thanks. It is a standard 6 spd and does pretty good now with the combo I have. Thinking I'll stick with 35" Micky thompson MTZ. Thanks.

Just as an F.Y.I.

I had a 2007 JKU with 34s (315/70/17) and 5.13s and it did just fine both on and off road...

I run 4.88s with the 3.8 and heavy 37" mud grapplers. It's perfect.

If you have a manual tranny then you should be just fine. I am riding on Pro Comp, Extreme's 37's with 4:88 and manual and it is perfect. I have a 2011 with the older engine, so you should be just fine.
