Default 285/70r17 on stock rims with 2.5 lift

Can I run 285/70 r17 MTRs on my jku's stock rubi rims without spacers if I have a 2.5 lift?

Of course you can. You'll want wheel spacers or adjust your steering stops.

There are many threads on it, just a little searching with Google should help out.

Thanks for the response, I found tons of threads about them fitting WITH spacers. I was hoping the 2.5 lift might allow them to fit without spacers, but it sounds like you're saying they will still need spacers (or adjusted steering stops) even with the lift.

You can run them without the spacers or adjusted stops buy you should be aware there's a possibility of rubbing your rear sway bar link constantly and you'll scrub your tires on the lower control arms up front.

They rub due to the width of the tire and is why you need adapters to push the wheel out. Lift is really not needed with that size tire.

I run 285/70R17 tires on stock Rubicon wheels. I do have a 2" lift though. I used 2 washers on each steering stop and have no rubbing when turning. This is just a thought because I never did this but if you use wheel spacers and no lift the tires might not tuck up into the flares when articulating. They may rub on the edge of the flare. Longer bump stops may be needed to prevent this. Maybe someone who's experienced this can weigh in.

correct you need to add some bump stop if you disconnect and stuff a tire fully up while the other is drooped out.

Taking the lip off of the flare allows the tire to tuck without scrubbing. Those flares are my off-road only flares because they look like hell.
