Default Bushwacker Flat Flares - 2/4 Door Fitment

Hi Everyone,

I have the opportunity to trade straight up my stock flares for a set of Flat Style flares. Guy bought the Jeep and does not like the look.

His is a 2 door and mine is a 4 door.

My 2 questions are:

1. Will my stock flares fit his? I am 99% sure they will, but figured I'd confirm.

2. Will the Bushwacker flat fenders he has fit mine? This is the harder question and one I need the experts here to help with.

Bushwacker sells 2 different parts:

2 Door - 10919-07

4 Door - 10918-07

In the details, they show the same individual part for the front fenders (10053-07) but for the rears, they show 2 different parts:

2 door - 10052-07
4 door - 10050-07

Does anyone know what these differences might be and if the 2 door rears would fit my 4 door?

I called Bushwacker and after probably 30 minutes on hold, the guy reassured me with zero details that it would work, which gave me zero confidence in his answer too

I am hoping someone here can shed some light so I can try and take advantage of a great opportunity, if possible.

Thanks everyone!

the fronts are exactly the same but the rear bw are different as the way they fit around the gas cap is slightly different. Bushwacker flat fenders are one of the only regret purchases I have made for jeeps. I just never liked how they looked once I installed them. So many better looking flat fenders out there.

Stock flares will fit just fine between the two jeeps. On to the BW's though- I *think* there was a member that put the 2dr on the 4dr or vice versa and the difference was a hole in the rear on each side.

from the bushwacker website.

Thank you for the inquiry. The parts are different shapes on the rear to accommodate for the back doors. These are not interchangeable.

Thank you all for the feedback. What a bummer! Would have been a great deal for a straight swap.

Thanks again everyone!

Seems like there was someone on here recently that made them work with not much effort, but honestly, consider this a blessing in disguise. There are a good number of us that have the same BW regrets that Jadmt already alluded to. Total waste of pissing $575 away for me. Well, actually, I think I salvaged $80 or so selling the fronts.

I'd elaborate and say I wouldn't put them on even if they were free.

I know someone who is driving a 2 door with the 4 door Bushwacker flares. The stock flares are a different part though.

The STOCK rear flares are the exact same part number.

Rear Right: 5KF16RXFAE
Rear Left: 5KF17RXFAE

There is no distinction between JK and JKU. These numbers are for the textured flare, not the paintable one.

Why Bushwacker made them differently is anybody's guess. It ain't because of the door.

It was my understanding that it was more to do with the fuel filler door location. Because the BWs mount proud of the stock location, they had to accommodate for the close fit of the door on the 2 door with a dimple.

Just got rid of my flares for my 2 door and went JCR. I like the BWs just fine. They look OK and will take a beating, but they don't do much to protect the Jeep.

I finally sold my BW Flats from my 2 Door to replace with PSC's. The bushwackers caused significant deformation of the sheet metal on all four corners. I did tap them on rocks and rubbed trees, they yielded a bit, but I feel they are too stiff for the body. I regret the purchase and the time it took to install. Also the PSC just look far better up front, the BW look like dumbo ears.

Sorry this is off topic, I just want the OP to know the consequences of running these fenders.
