Question New Owner of first Jeep 08 2dr JK

Well i bought my first jeep bout a week ago. 08 Jk X 2dr soft top manual trans. So of course ive been checking around on accessories and such. Figured id do some basic upgrades. Sidebars/rockslider. Brushguard, lights maybe a lil chrome accent here or there. Ive been kinda shocked on the prices you guys are payin for rock sliders! Blew my mind $400-600 thats kinda nuts to me! These mfgs really are raping the jeep guys!

To put things in perspective i bought the jeep for 90% on road pretty much for the wify to drive in the winter. I am an avid offroader and have a "Beast" that i wheel with. but i figured that when i go the girls can come along and play on some of the simpler trails with the jeep.

Now how come i can get a full DOM cage from S&W for under 300.00 but some but simple rock sliders are 400-600? Dosent make sense to me.

Is there some reasonable companies out there that make rocksliders that are reasonable prices or should i just make my own?

Two things:
1: from what I understand w/ the jk being new and demand for products high the aftermarket has us btween a rock and a hard place on accessories.
As more companies offer products and demand slows hopefully prices will drop.
2: post pics of the beast either here or in another area, like the registry.

Yeah the first one is frog hole the second is mud pit on the power line at rausch creek last fall. I acctually hit my rear yoke coming up out of the mud pit on the bank and shattered it (broke the yoke on the rear & the drive shaft)! drove out of the mud pit and the whole way home (1.5hr) drive with just the front drive shaft. Next time i go back hopefully i will have the dana 60 & 14ff under it & the tow rig with the trailer! Then i dont have to hold back as much and have some more fun!
